Return of the Long Nile Cruise

Blog Index

The stretch of river between Cairo and Luxor re-opened in 2012 after being closed for 16 years. Last week the FCO lifted the final travel restrictions for the Nile Valley and so the 14 night long cruise between Cairo and Aswan is now able to operate once again.

Visitors returning to Middle Egypt can now marvel at the atmospheric remains of the desert city of Akhenaten, the tombs of Beni Hassan, Abydos Temple (one of the most complete temples of its kind) and Dendara Temple with its remarkable scenes and beautifully preserved colours.

The long cruise operates between Cairo and Aswan (and vice versa) in March/April  2015 and September/October 2015. We are delighted to confirm that the boat sailing on this cruise is the 5* HS Nile Vision, which is already part of our fleet and is a firm favourite. Departures are on a Tuesday and provisional sailing dates in 2015 to date are:

  • 10th March 2015 - Aswan to Cairo
  • 24th March 2015 - Cairo to Aswan
  • 29th September 2015 - Aswan to Cairo
  • 13th October 2015 - Cairo to Aswan

Prices lead in at £1669 per person and include 14 nights accommodation on a Full Board basis, all transfers, flights from London Heathrow and 21 excursions escorted by an English speaking Egyptologist who is on board throughout the cruise. The All Inclusive supplement is £195 per person. Please click here for an example itinerary. To request a quote please use the form below.
