The Lynsey Ivison Trust, a local charity to Orbital Travel’s offices, provide special holidays for terminally ill children and their parents. Lynsey was diagnosed as having cancer at the age of nine but this bright and courageous young girl was determined to lead as normal a life as possible and she continued with her passions - dancing, swimming and family cycle rides - as well as her studies.
When Lynsey died aged eleven on 27th April 1990 she had already been an inspiration to other children and to their families - as well as her own family and friends. Established in 1990 after Lynsey died, the Trust was set up by her family and friends to help families from across the UK spend precious time with their children on holiday.
John McCallum, Managing Director comments; “Orbital Travel are proud to have been involved with the Lynsey Ivison Trust for 8 years now. Lynsey’s parents live next door to a friend of ours in Buntingford (Hertfordshire, UK), sadly their daughter died at a very young age from cancer. It is inspirational when people are able to turn adversity into something positive. The Trust works tirelessly to provide holidays for children with life threatening illnesses.
